Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, commander of the Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion, confirmed the matter.
According to BGB, several organised gangs from Marine Drive and its surrounding areas have recently become active in smuggling, drug trafficking, and human trafficking through the deep sea.
‘Following this operation, we were able to arrest five members of an organised trafficking ring red-handed and foiled an attempt to traffic a large number of people from Myanmar,’ said Colonel Ashiqur Rahman.
