
A mobile court on Friday fined expired vehicles during a raid in the Labsa Bypass area of Satkhira.
The operation was jointly conducted by the district administration and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority to prevent expired motor vehicles from operating on the district鈥檚 roads and highways.
Assistant commissioner and executive magistrate Md Saiful Islam led the operation.
During the drive, Tk 4,500 was collected in fines from five cases filed for violations of various sections of the Road Transport Act, 2018.
KM Mahbub Kabir, assistant director of the BRTA, said that the raids would continue to ensure discipline on the roads.
He added that banning old vehicles would help reduce road accidents, decrease environmental pollution, and make travel safer for the public.
