A father allegedly killed his drug-addicted son with a cutting tool at Bamail Madhyapara area of Demra in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The deceased was Bakir Hossain, 25, an auto-rickshaw driver.
The father, Kashem, was arrested and sent to court.
The police recovered Bakir鈥檚 body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Demra police station officer-in-charge Mahmudur Rahman said that a dispute over drug money escalated when the father pushed his son, causing the cutting tool to pierce his chest.
鈥楢 case has been filed, and Kashem remains in jail custody,鈥� he added. The body was later handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
