A housewife allegedly committed suicide at her home in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur Friday morning over continuous family dispute.
The deceased, Majeda Khatun, 27, is a resident of Muna Pradhania Kandi village in North Tarabunia Union and wife of Abul Khayer Abu Hossain Mollah who fled away after the incident.
According to police and family sources, Majeda had a long history of disputes with her husband and it eventually prompted her to take her life.
Obaidul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sakhipur police station, said that police recovered the body and were investigating the case.
鈥楾he exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report,鈥� he added.
