A traditional boat race was held at Beutha Point on the Kaliganga River in Manikganj on Saturday.
With the theme 鈥榩rotect the water pollution for building the clean Bangladesh鈥�, the boat was arranged under the sponsorships of the Manikganj District Administration.
Dhaka divisional commissioner Sharaf Uddin Chowdhury attended the event as chief guest.
Thousands of people from all walks of life, including men and women, attended the event and enjoyed the race with great enthusiasm.
Four groups of boats participated in the competition.
The first prize in each group received a refrigerator, the second prize an LED television, and the third prize a microwave.
Additionally, the champion group was awarded a motorcycle.
