Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha鈥檚 activities in the 2009-2024 period will come under comprehensive audit, officials said.
RAJUK under the housing and public works ministry is a government agency responsible for coordinating urban development in the capital.
There are allegations that the authority violated rules in its activities, including allotting plots and flats, during the authoritarian Awami League regime which was ousted on August 5, 2024, in a mass uprising, ministry officials said.
The housing and public works ministry has instructed its internal audit directorate to conduct comprehensive audit of all income and expenditure, handover of plots and flats and allotment-related activities of the authority.
The ministry also instructed that the audit be completed within three months, according to a press release issued by Md Alamgir Hossain, public relations officer of the ministry, on Sunday.
The release stated that the order was issued in line with the scope of work of the ministry鈥檚 internal audit department and in accordance with the decision made at the budget management committee meeting on April 23.
The internal audit department will conduct the audit in public interests, it said.
The audit will include preparing an audit plan, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, submitting the details of audit team members to the ministry, and notifying RAJUK before the commencement of the audit.
A detailed report must be submitted to the ministry鈥檚 secretary upon completion of the audit, the release added.
