
The throat-slit body of an activist of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal was recovered from his home under the Kamalganj police in Moulvibazar on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim Rafi, 24, son of Abdus Sattar Miah of Siddheshwarpur village at Rahimpur union under Kamalganj upazila.Â
Family members said that Rafi was involved with the local unit of JCD, student organisation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Kamalganj police officer-in-charge Mohammad Abu Jafar confirmed Rafi’s killing to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.
Referring to family members, he said that they went to Rafi’s room at around 9:30am to wake him up as they thought they he was oversleeping and found his throat-slit body in his bed.Â
On receiving information, a team of the police reached the spot about noon and sent the victim’s body to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.Â
The police officer told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· in the evening that they began investigation into the incident.
‘A case will be filed after receiving a written complaint from the victim’s family,’ he added.
