People from all walks of life started gathering at听 Manik Mia Avenue at the south of Jatiya Sangsad premises on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the first anniversary of the July uprising.
Cultural performers began singing patriotic songs from the 36 July Celebration Platform at about 12:15pm.
Another platform at the South Plaza of the Jatia Sangsad was seen being prepared from where the chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is expected to deliver the July Proclamation.
Following the Bangladesh Bank direction, Dhaka-based bank officials gathered in front of the Novotheatre at Bijoy Sarani intersection and rallied towards the July uprising celebration platform at Manik Mia Avenue.
Meanwhile, people from Chattogram, Rangpur, and other divisions, travelling by the interim government-hired special trains, also started arriving at the venue since the morning.
They were seen chanting slogans, demanding quick trial of the Awami League leaders. They were also demanding reforms before the next national elections.
