
Speakers at a discussion in Dhaka on Wednesday called for the protection of environment and utilising power of youths to advance the country.
They made the call at the Youth Festival 2025 organised by Bangladesh Rural Development Board, said a press release.
An action plan was adopted by the BRDB Headquarters to implement the programmes taken by the Rural Development and Cooperatives Department to celebrate Youth Festival-2025.
As per the action plan adopted, a rally, tree planting programme, fruit tree sapling distribution and a discussion meeting titled Youth Are the Pioneers of Building Future Bangladesh were at Residential Complex, Pallikanan, Uttara, BRDB, Dhaka.
Sardar Md Keramat Ali, director general, BRDB, was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided over by Mohammad Nasir Uddin, BRDB training directo.
BRDB DG said, ‘The power of youth was the symbol of the country’s independence and sovereignty, the driving force to move the country forward.’
He also mentioned that there was no alternative to tree plantation to maintain environmental balance, calling on all the officers and employees working in each district and upazila office of BRDB to plant at least two trees each.
Nasir Uddin said, ‘Today’s children are the future of tomorrow, they will lead the country and the nation one day.’
In addition, directors, joint directors and stakeholders of BRDB participated in the discussion and called for environmental protection and utilising the power of youth to advance the country’s prosperity.
