
A blood donation programme was organised at the UCEP head office in Dhaka for the treatment of children who survived the Milestone tragedy.Â
At the initiative of the UCEP Bangladesh and in collaboration with Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, vice-chairman of Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, Professor Syeda Masuma Rahman, delivered the welcome speech at the programme, said a press release on Wednesday.
‘The Thalassemia Foundation is relentlessly providing medical services to thalassemia patients. I came with my staff as soon as UCEP Bangladesh asked for cooperation due to the Milestone tragedy,’ said Masuma Rahman, adding, ‘Blood donation is a great initiative.’
Addressing the youth, she said, ‘A bag of your donated blood will save the life of a child.’
The programme was inaugurated by UCEP Bangladesh executive director and former principal secretary Md Abdul Karim.
