The Dhaka North City Corporation is set to introduce the ‘Citizen Award 2025’ to recognise individuals and organisations, contributing to making Dhaka a more livable city.
This is the first time, the DNCC will present such awards, which aim to acknowledge contributions in city development, environmental protection, social services, and public awareness, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
Thirty recipients—both individuals and organisations—will be recognised across six categories.
Applications will be accepted through the DNCC website starting this month.
Any Bangladeshi citizen or organisation, regardless of age, gender, or profession, is eligible to apply. However, those involved in active politics or facing corruption charges will be disqualified.
Awardees will receive a DNCC-recognised certificate, an honorary crest and medal, and a symbolic monetary honorarium.
