Mongla Port saw the simultaneous docking of four foreign commercial ships on Tuesday night, the first day of the 2025-26 fiscal year, carrying huge imported goods.

Md Makruzzaman, deputy director of public relations of Mongla Port Authority, confirmed the arrivals.


The Singapore-flagged Kota Restu ship docked at Jetty 5 with 299 TEUs containers, tonnes of machinery, while the Panama-flagged MT Hi-Young anchored at Jetty 6, carrying molasses.

Besides, the Sierra Leone-flagged MV History Edward docked at Jetty 7 with machinery of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, and the Panama-flagged MV DS Property docked at Jetty 9 with machinery of Power Grid Company.

Additionally, Mongla Port currently accommodates 14 foreign ships, including two at the outer anchorage, seven at Harbaria and one at the gas company points.

These vessels are transporting a variety of cargo, such as machinery, molasses, stones, rice, coal, clinker, LPG, fly ash and fertilisers.
