The woman, who was raped, tortured and videoed in a village under Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla, has left her father’s home due to ‘interview pressure’ and crowds flocking around her house every day.

Local people said that the victim and her family members were not seen at home since Tuesday morning.

They said that the victim left the house with her two children with the help of the police as several journalists were coming to the house for her interview every day.

Later, her parents and family members also went elsewhere, they said.

Muradnagar police station officer-in-charge Zahidur Rahman said that they heard that the woman went to a relative’s house.

‘This is her personal matter,’ he said and added that they would ensure the victim’s security.

On Tuesday, hundreds of people gathered around the victim’s house as Bangladesh Nationalist Party vice chairman and former lawmaker Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain visited the house.

The woman, 27, belonging to Hindu community and mother of two children, was raped at her parent’s home at a village of Muradnagar upazila at the night following June 26. The woman was later tortured and a video of the torture went viral on social media on June 28.

Protests erupted at places of the country after the video went viral on social media.

The police arrested the main accused Fazar Ali for raping the woman and four others for circulation of the video of the crime.
