A constable of the Dharmapasha police station in Sunamganj was arrested early Tuesday on charges of raping a Higher Secondary Certificate examinee.
The constable, Ainul Haque, 28, is married and a resident of Islampur Dubhag village under Goainghat upazila in Sylhet, said Dharmapasha police station officer-in-charge Mohammed Enamul Haque.
He said that the victim, an examinee of the ongoing HSC exams, complained to the police station in this regard Monday evening and filed a case under the Woman and Children Repression Prevention Act against the constable.
In the case statement, the victim said that she had an affair with Ainul and he raped her at a hotel in the Sunamganj town on June 26 upon promises of marriage.
鈥楾he accused was arrested immediately after filing the case and the victim was also admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital Tuesday morning,鈥� the Dharmapasha police station OC said.
Sunamganj additional police superintendent (Dharmapasha Circle) Ali Farid Ahmed told 抖阴精品 that the accused constable was produced before the chief district judicial magistrate court Tuesday afternoon after he was shown arrested in the case.
鈥楾he court ordered he be sent to jail,鈥� he said.
