The online general diary service at all police stations under the Dhaka and Mymensingh ranges will start on Tuesday.
The Bangladesh Police’s digital service initiative is set to expand the service to the ranges today, allowing residents under 134 police stations to file all types of general diaries online.
The move is part of the force’s ongoing efforts to simplify services under a directive of the chief adviser, according to a press release issued by the Police Headquarters on Monday.
The service has already covered all the police stations under the Sylhet Range, Sylhet Metropolitan Police, Chattogram Range and Chattogram Metropolitan Police.
To file an online GD, users need to download the ‘Online GD’ app from the Google Play Store and complete one-time registration process.
For any help during the registration or filing a GD, a hotline (01320001428) has been made available for 24 hours.
The Police Headquarters in its release said that the online GD service would be gradually introduced in other ranges and metropolitan areas across the country.
The online GD facility was previously limited to entries related to loss and recovery, it said.
