The new committee of Manikganj Press Club was formed with Zahangir Alam Biswas as president and Shahanur Islam as general secretary.
The biennial election of Manikganj Press Club was held on Saturday at the press club premises.
Zahangir is the Manikganj correspondent for The Daily Star, while Shahanur works for Daily Naya Diganta.
In the new committee, Md Shahjahan Biswas and Abul Bashar Abbasy were elected as vice-presidents.
Ripon Ansary was appointed joint secretary, Zahidul Haque Chandan as assistant general secretary, Akmal Hossain as sports and cultural secretary, Khandaker Sujon Hossain as publicity and publishing secretary, Azizul Hakim as office secretary, and Shahin Rareq as treasurer.
