Environment, forest and climate change adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan visited the permanent campus of Rabindra University, Bangladesh in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj on Monday.

The adviser was welcomed by vice-chancellor Professor SM Hassan Talukder, pro-vice-chancellor Professor Suman Kanti Barua, treasurer Professor Feroz Ahmed, along with teachers, students, officials and employees of the university, said a press release.


During her visit, a documentary about the permanent campus of Rabindra University was shown in the auditorium of the temporary academic building-3 of the university.

Later, Rizwana inspected the land allocated there for the university and its surrounding area.

The adviser was accompanied by Qayyum Ara Begum, member (secretary) of the socio-economic infrastructure department of the Bangladesh Planning Commission. Sirajganj deputy commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam, superintendent of police Faruk Hossain, additional superintendent of police (Shahzadpur Circle) and Shahjadpur upazila executive officer and officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur police station were present on behalf of the local administration.
