Former Awami League lawmaker for Kusthia-1 constituency AKM Sarwar Jahan was arrested at Basila in Mohammadpur in Dhaka city on Tuesday afternoon.
Mohammadpur police inspector for investigation Md Hafizur Rahman told 抖阴精品 that he led a team in arresting Sarwar from his brother鈥檚 house in Basila at about 1:00pm.
鈥楽arwar is accused in cases filed in Kusthia and Mohammadpur over the past year鈥檚 student-led mass uprising. He is also facing charges with the Anti-Corruption Commission,鈥� Hafizur said.
He said that Sarwar was kept in Mohammadpur police鈥檚 custody.
鈥榃e are yet to confirm which cases he would be shown arrested in,鈥� the police inspector added.
AKM Sarwar Jahan became the lawmaker for Kusthia-1 constituency in the controversial general elections held in 2018.
