At least eleven dwelling houses were burnt to ashes in a fire in Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong district early Friday.
The incident occurred at about 2:00am at Kalur Majhi鈥檚 house in the Headpara area of ward no-2 under Shilkoop Union of the upazila.
Local Union Parishad member Siddique Akbar Bahadur said that a team from the Banshkhali fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.
The cause of fire could not be known immediately.
The affected families claim that the damage worth around Tk 30 lakh.
