Over 50 people were injured in a clash between two groups over land dispute at Sarail in Brahmanbaria on Thursday.

The clash took place at Sarail-Aruail road in the upazila.


People of the area said that there had been a long-standing dispute between Rajib Miah of Shisho group and Nurul Amin of Sadhu Miah group over a piece of land.

Following this matter, supporters of two groups engaged in clashes with locally made weapons on Thursday morning.

Being informed, a team of Sarail police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Sarail police station officer-in-charge Rafikul Hasan said that the incident happened between two groups over a disputed land. ‘The situation is now calm. Additional police have been deployed at the spot.’
