An activist of Bangladesh Nationalist Party was killed in a bomb explosion at Dubpara under Bahadurpur union of Beanpole port police station in Jashore at about 9:30pm on Saturday, the day of Eid-ul-Azha following factional feud, police and local people said.

The victim was identified as Abdul Hye, 50, an activist of BNP.


Rassel Mia, officer in-charge, Beanpole port police station, confirming the information, said that the incident took place over establishing supremacy in the area.

Delwar Hossain Khokon, general secretary of Jashore district unit BNP confirmed that the victim was a BNP activist.

Local people said that Abu Sayeed, vice-president of ward number 9 unit of BNP, and his men killed the victim exploding a hand bomb over a feud of taking seat during an Eid jamat.
