
Police recovered the body of a housewife at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria on Saturday night.
It was alleged that she was killed by her husband over a family dispute.
The incident took place in Gulkhar village under Darkhar union.
The deceased is Runa Akter, 32, wife of Saidur Rahman of Gulkhar.
Police arrested husband of the victim, Saidur Rahman, and her father-in-law Abdus Salam in this regard.
Runa Akter, daughter of late Sheikh Nasir Uddin, was a resident of Ranikhar village of the same union.Â
Akhaura police officer-in-charge Md Samiuddin said that a deep injury mark was found in Runa’s chest.
No case was filed over the incident yet, the OC added.
‘Runa Akter was married to Saidur Rahman three years ago and the couple had a ten-month-old child,’ the victim’s brother, Sheik Jasim Uddin said, adding that Saidur Rahman used to work at a saloon in Dhaka.
‘Saidur took Tk 2 lakh from us for buying land and he killed my sister for more money.’ he claimed.
