Unilever Bangladesh, country’s leading fast-moving consumer goods manufacturers and marketing company, recently organised a three-day environmental journalism workshop titled ‘Youth journalism on environment: a focus on plastic waste management’ for the youth of Chattogram.

The workshop was organised under Unilever Bangladesh’s plastic waste management project, run in partnership with Chattogram City Corporation and Young Power in Social Action, said a press release on Tuesday.

In continuation of the workshop that started last year, this year 167 young students participated in the initial phase. Later, after various stages of written tests and final screening, 20 students got the opportunity to participate in the workshop.

On the first day, the participating students, under the supervision of renowned journalists, participated in on-site field visits to different areas of the port city. In the next two days, they received hands-on training on fundamentals of journalism, multimedia, investigative and digital journalism.

At the end of the workshop, certificates were handed over to the trained youth. Along with the trainers, YPSA CEO Md Arifur Rahman, Unilever Bangladesh factory head SM Tariq Saifullah and other concerned officials were present.
