The business school of Southeast University organised a seminar titled Navigating Career Paths in Public Finance: Exploring Opportunities in VAT, Excise and Customs Duty at Shaheed Imtiaz Hall of the university in Dhaka on Saturday.

The event was initiated with the opening remarks by Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, pro-vice-chancellor of SEU while SEU vice-chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the event, said a press release on Sunday.


Md Abdur Rouf, member for VAT policy of the National Board of Revenue, presented the keynote at the seminar.

Barrister Md Badruzzaman Munshi, second secretary for VAT Act and Rule of the NBR, shared valuable insights.

The seminar provided students and professionals with expert guidance on career opportunities in public finance, with a focus on taxation and customs.

Professor Md Serajul Islam, dean, SBS, and Professor Farhana Helal Mehtab, dean, SASS of the SEU, also spoke at the event, which was moderated by BBA director Farhana Ferdousi.聽
