
A government official died after falling from a moving train in the Jayrampur area under Jibannagar in Chuadanga on Wednesday.
The deceased, Gaffar Ali Akash, 29, a resident of Senerhuda village in the upazila, was an office assistant at the Water Development Board in Chuadanga.
The accident occurred around 5:30pm near the AKH Centre area, close to Joyrampur railway station.
According to locals, Gaffar accidentally fell from the moving Khulna-bound Kapataksha Express train as it was passing through Joyrampur while departing from Rajshahi. He died on the spot.
Jagadish Chandra Basu, sub-inspector of the Chuadanga railway police outpost, said that the body was recovered from the scene. ‘If the family has no complaints, the body will be handed over after an autopsy.’
