Dettol, the trusted household name in disinfectant from Reckitt Benckiser, recently extended its support to Rikta Akter Banu鈥揕utfa Buddhi Protibondhi Biddaloy, a one-of-a-kind school at Ramna Sarkarpara village in Kurigram, dedicated to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dettol pledged a full year鈥檚 supply of hygiene and disinfectant products for the school along with a cash donation Tk 50,000, said a press release on Tuesday.

The school was founded in 2009 by senior staff nurse Rikta Akter Banu. She established the school after her daughter, who lives with autism and cerebral palsy, and was denied admission to a local government school.

Rikta鈥檚 tireless efforts recently earned her international recognition, as she was named one of the BBC鈥檚 100 inspiring and influential women of 2024, under the science, health and technology category.

As part of this campaign, an OVC, sharing Rikta鈥檚 powerful story, was posted on Dettol Bangladesh鈥檚 official Facebook page.
