
The Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday filed a case against director of the Department of Immigration and Passport Md Saidul Islam and his wife Shaila Akhter on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 2.63 crore.
The ACC filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 following approval of the commission, said ACC deputy director for public relations Md Akhterul Islam.
According to the case, Saidul Islam amassed illegal asset and properties worth聽 about Tk 1.19 crore while he was a director of the DIP in Dhaka while his wife acquired illegal wealth worth Tk 1.44 crore.
Currently, Saidul Islam has been working as director at the DIP Chattogram office. Earlier, he worked as a director at the DIP headquarters in Dhaka.
