Forty-eight new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 23 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, five in Chattogram, five in Dhaka division, four in Sylhet division, two in Khulna division, one in Rangpur division, four in Dhaka North City Corporation and four in Dhaka South City Corporation, said a Directorate General of Health Services press release on Tuesday.


With the latest figures, the number of dengue cases has risen to 3,116 and 21 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease have been reported this year.

During the same 24-hour period, 46 patients were released after receiving treatment. According to DGHS data, the country recorded 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in the past year.
