Leaders of Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad, a combine of 16 labour rights bodies, in a statement on Friday called on the interim government and TNZ Garment factory owners to pay arrears and wages of the factory in Gazipur immediately.

The workers of the factory have been waging movements since March 20 demanding wages and a tripartite meeting took a decision to pay the wages by May 7, the leaders said, adding that the owners of the factory, however, have not paid wages of the workers so far.

The workers of the factory will hold a press conference today in front of Srama Bhaban at Bijoynagar at 11:00am, the leaders said.

The signatories to the statement are Joint coordinator of SKOP Anwar Hossain, Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam, Abdul Kader Hawlader and others.
