Members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 3,20,000 Yaba pills during a special drive at Teknaf upazila in Cox鈥檚 Bazar early Thursday.

No one was arrested during the operation.

Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid, media officer of the Coast Guard, confirmed the seizure in a press release.

The officer said that on information, a team from the Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted the drive at around 3:00am in the Hnila Habirchhara Marine Drive area on the night of Wednesday.

During the operation, two men were spotted carrying large sacks. As Coast Guard members approached them, the suspects dropped the sacks and fled the scene.

The team later recovered abandoned sacks and found 3,20,000 Yaba pills inside.

Legal procedures are under way to hand over the recovered drugs to the authorities concerned, he added.
