The Rapid Action Battalion has arrested a fugitive bus driver in connection with a fatal road accident that killed two people at Palashbari in Gaibandha in the past year.
The accused, Shakil Mia, 35, a resident of Chhoto Bhagwanpur village under Palashbari, was apprehended by the RAB at Palashbari bus stand area, said a press release on Saturday.
On August 28, Shakil Mia was driving recklessly when his bus collided with a battery-run van, killing the van driver, Rubel Hossain, 40, and a passenger, Rezaul Karim, 35. Following the accident, Shakil Mia went into hiding.
A case was filed with the Palashbari police station after the incident.
After his arrest, the RAB handed Shakil Mia over to the police station for legal action.
