A prisoner was declared dead Friday morning after he was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital from Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj in Dhaka.
Saiful Islam Tukun, 40, had fallen ill at about 8:20am on the day at Dhaka Central Jail and DMCH physicians declared him dead at about 9:20am, according to prison officials.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Md Faruk said that the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
Dhaka Central Jail senior jail super Suraiya Akter told 抖阴精品 that Saiful was accused in a murder case filed with the Narayanganj Sadar police station.
鈥楽aiful was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail from Narayanganj District Jail on December 8, 2024 for better treatment following his suffering a stroke.
He was admitted to the prisons hospital,鈥� said Suraiya, adding that the prisons authorities had previously taken him to the DMCH several times for better treatment.
She said that they would follow all legal procedures, including filing a case in this connection.
