Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation held a workshop titled Strategy and Steps to be Taken for Accelerated, Dynamic and Comprehensive Seed Sales of Aman Rice Seed in the 2025-26 Distribution Year at the BADC seminar hall in Dhaka on Thursday.

Additional general manager of the seed distribution department, Md Selim Haider, presented the keynote at the workshop, said a press release.

Inaugurating the workshop as chief guest, BADC chairman Md Ruhul Amin Khan said, ‘The BADC is an asset in the country’s agricultural system and it needs to be taken much further.’

He said that BADC’s seeds are the best in quality and price and highly appreciated at the farmer level. ‘However, seed production activities through BADC are not possible according to the total demand of farmers across the country. The amount of seed production is being gradually increased every season.’

He stressed on being proactive in further increasing the quality of the seeds produced by determining the demand for seeds in a specific manner and also taking action and steps in the sale of all seeds.

He also called on all concerned to be responsible so that no artificial crisis was created in the supply chain and that farmers were able to obtain seeds at fair prices in all seasons and that farmers were not subjected to any harassment in obtaining seeds.
