The police arrested a man at Satkania upazila in Chattogram on charges of raping his 13-year-old daughter on Thursday.
The accused is Mohammad Ali, 40, from Manohar Chowdhury Para of Sadaha Union in the upazila.
He was detained from his residence in the morning, said officer-in-charge Md Zahedul Islam of Satkania police station.
The police officer said that the victim鈥檚 mother had filed a case with Satkania police station, naming her husband as the lone accused.
鈥楾he accused was arrested shortly after we received the complaint. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed the crime,鈥� OC Zahedul added.
Following legal procedures, police produced Mohammad Ali before court Thursday afternoon and the court subsequently sent him to jail.
