
The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC has removed illegal gas connections and collected fines in different areas of Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur.
As part of the regular operation, a drive was conducted in Dohragaon, Rupganj, Narayanganj area on Wednesday, said a press release on Thursday.
During the operation, approximately 2,100 two-way residential stoves of approximately 600 houses were disconnected at two points. During this time, 1,000 feet of pipes of various diameters were removed and seized.
On the same day, with the help of the officers and technical team of Titas Gas Ashulia office, a drive was conducted in the areas of Mujarmil, Rajartek, Kanthalbagan, Madhabpur, Panishail, Ashulia and聽 Savar and about 500 two-way residential stoves were disconnected. At this time, 200 metres of pipes of different diameters were removed and seized.
In addition, illegal eviction activities have been conducted through mobile courts in Panchdona and Madhabdi areas of Narsingdi Sadar.
In the operation, the connection of a factory owned by Ataur Rahman Joni of Chaitab, Panchdona area was disconnected and the service was shut down for illegal use of gas.
In addition, the connection of a residential customer named Mohibullah was disconnected.
In addition, six more residential customers were disconnected for unauthorised use of gas. On the same day, an eviction operation was conducted in the Madhabdi area, and about 50 illegal residential customers were disconnected.
A drive was conducted in the areas of Chowdhury Bari, Bou Bazar, Uttar Shatinagar Canal Par, Narayanganj and approximately 1,038 double-sided residential stoves in approximately 351 houses were disconnected.
