
A young man was hacked to death in Mirpur鈥檚 Pallabi area in the capital Dhaka Friday evening allegedly over previous enmity.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Selim, 35, a resident at Bihari Camp at Pallabi. Relatives of the deceased said that the incident took place at about 6:00pm.
They rescued Selim and rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital鈥檚 emergency department where duty doctors pronounced him dead.
Selim鈥檚 aunt Yasmin Akhter said that Selim used to do embroidery work and was a supporter of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubodal, the youth front of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
She alleged that seven to eight identified drug dealers from the area hacked him with sharp weapons and left him on the street.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Md Faruk said that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy and the police station concerned was informed about the incident.
