Garment labour leaders at a protest rally in Dhaka on Friday demanded the wages and the festival allowance of workers of Style Graft Garment in Gazipur by March 23.
Bangladesh Garment O Sweater Sramik Trade Union Kendra held the rally in front of the National Press Cl ub attended by several hundred workers of the factory.
BGSSTUK general secretary Kazi Ruhul Amin alleged that the workers of the garment factory did not get their wages for the past 14 months.
He also called on the factory owners to pay the wage and festival allowance of the workers by March 23, otherwise workers would announce tougher movements.
Chaired by president of the organisation, Iddris Ali, central leaders Hafizul Islam and Jalal Hawlader, among others, spoke at the rally.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
The organisation will hold a protest rally in front of the National Press Club at 11:00am today, said a press release.
