
Three police officials including Pallabi police station officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam were injured as a private university student attacked them in the duty officer’s room of the police station in the capital early Tuesday.
Two other injured officers are sub-inspector Shariful Islam and assistant sub-inspector Md Nasir. All the injured officers took primary treatment, the police said.
The attacker, Abdur Razzak Fahim, 23, is a student of World University of Bangladesh and came from Gazipur.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Mirpur division deputy commissioner Maksudur Rahman said that the youth, Abdur Razzak Fahim, attacked the police officers at about 1:30am.

‘A case was filed with the police station in this connection on Tuesday. We detained Fahim and three other people and showed Fahim arrested in the case,’ the DC added.
OC Nazrul Islam said that he sustained a minor injury and a finger of a hand of ASI Nasir was broken.
‘Fahim attacked three of us. Three other detainees were not present on the spot,’ he said.
He said that they had sent all of them to the court.
‘Fahim seemed mentally unstable,’ the OC added.
Nazrul said that Fahim came to Mirpur from Gazipur to visit his relative’s house.
