
A fire broke out at the generator room of the Liberation War Museum in the capital on Monday morning.
The fire that originated at about 9:00am, was fully extinguished by 9:46am, said Talha Bin Zasim, station officer of media cell at Fire Service and Civil Defense.
The cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction, he said, adding that two units from Mohammadpur fire station rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
The estimated damage from the fire was approximately Tk聽5 lakh, while property worth around Tk聽50 lakh was saved, added the FSCD official.
