Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from the Manu River at Kulaura in Moulvibazar.
The body was discovered at around 5:00pm on Monday in the Daudpur area of Hajipur union.
According to the police, the deceased was a citizen of Myanmar.
Kulaura police officer-in-charge Md Golam Apasar stated that locals spotted an unidentified body floating in the Manu River in Hajipur and immediately informed the police.
The police recovered the body and sent it to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
A mobile phone and an ID card were also found with the body, the officer said, adding that the ID card, bearing the name Parveen Fatema, recorded an address in Myanmar.
Earlier, several Myanmar Rohingya nationals attempting to enter Bangladesh illegally through the Indian border had been detained by law enforcement agencies in this region.
