
Two people were killed and six others were injured injured in a road accident involving a microbus, an authorickshaw and a motorbike in Sherpur Sadar upazila on early Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Gaurav, 25, son of Sanajit of Durganarayanpur of Sherpur district headquarters, and Kishore, 12, a resident of Boyra Poranpur area under Sadar upazila.
Police and witnesses said that the speeding microbus crashed into the auto-rickshaw and motorbike coming from the opposite direction in Austomitola of Sherpur city around 12:30am, leaving eight people injured.
With the help of local people, police and fire service personnel took the injured to the Sherpur-Sadar Hospital where the two died from their injuries, said Sadar police station's officer-in-charge Md Jobaidul Islam.
Of the deceased, Gaurav was riding the bike while Kishore was the passenger of the auto-rickshaw, he said, adding that the injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
