
An intellectual and cultural organisation titled July Sangram Parishad was launched on Saturday to uphold the spirit of July uprising.
The launch was held at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.Â
Abu Bakar Siddique Prantor was made the convener while Muntasir Rahman the member secretary and Nofiul Islam the spokeperson of the convening committee of the organisation.
Prantor told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the organisation would work to further the intellectual and cultural struggle to uphold the spirit of July uprising.
‘We will mainly organise study circles, seminars, discussions and cultural events aiming to transfer the July uprising into a revolution,’ said Prantor.
Nofiul said that the organisation would work as a civil society organisation.
The political force that is emerging, especially under the leadership of youths who led the mass uprising, must be supported and cooperated intellectually and politically, Nofiul said, adding that the July Sangram Parishad has been formed to make the uprising a success.
Besides members of the convening committee, including Masud Hasan Sweet, Azhar Uddin Lincoln, Yasir Arafat, Fardin Iftekhar, Aslam Siddiqui, Salah Uddin Ghalib and Navid Nowroz were also present at the event.
