Masuma Islam, a Rajshahi-based reporter of private television channel Ekhon TV, who received injuries in a road accident on Friday, passed away early Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a city hospital in Dhaka.
She was 30.
Masuma breathed her last at about 4:00am, following multiple health complications caused by the accident, said Ekhon TV Rajshahi office bureau Rakibul Hasan Rajib.
He said that a passenger-bus hit Masuma and her husband in front of Noorjahan Hotel in Cumilla while they were bargaining with a CNG-run three-wheeler to fix a rent to reach her father-in-law鈥檚 house on Friday noon.
She was first rushed to Cumilla Sadar Hospital from where she was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Later, she was transferred to a private hospital where she died from her injuries, Rajib added.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Masuma was held at Markazul Islam on Babar Road in the capital while she will be buried at her native village at Gurudaspur in Natore following a second namaz-e-janaza in the evening.
