Chief scientific officer and director of Quality Management department of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Md Quamrul Huda, has recently been appointed as the BAEC chairman with current charge.
In a notification, he was appointed as chairman of the BAEC on February 13, said a press release.
He joined the BAEC as a scientific officer on December 12, 1991.
In his career, he has carried out various theoretical researches, heat transfer and safety analysis work of 3 MW Trigra Mark-II research reactor at Savar in Dhaka.
He has also carried out various code designs, burn-up analysis and safety parameter determination work of nuclear power plants and is currently associated with the overall activities of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant construction project.
He earned his bachelor and master degrees in physics from Dhaka University, and obtained his PhD in reactor physics from Jahangirnagar University.
