
The department of environmental science of Bangladesh University of Professionals hosted a seminar and workshop on ‘Safe and just operating space for achieving sustainable development goals in Bangladesh’ at the BUP in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The BUP organised the seminar in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, said a press release on Thursday.
The purpose of the seminar and workshop was to highlight the importance of creating a sustainable and equitable framework for achieving SDGs in Bangladesh, addressing both environmental and social challenges.
The event brought together leading academics, researchers and policymakers to discuss and delve into the strategies and solutions that could help Bangladesh to create a safe and just operating space to achieve the SDGs.
Experts from the University of Glasgow, Professor Md Sarwar Hossain and Mohammad Ali Nause Russel, and former director of the Institute
of Water and Flood Management, Professor AKM Saiful Islam were present as panel speakers at the programme.
Director general of the Governance Innovation Unit of Bangladesh, Mohammad Abdul Latif, was present as special guest at the program.
