Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research held a stakeholder workshop titled BTRI’s Role in Biomedical Research for Improving the Quality of Health Services-2025 at the IFST auditorium of BCSIR in Dhaka on Monday.

Chairman of the council, Samina Ahmed, attended as chief guest at the workshop while special guests were development member of the council Kazi Anwar Hossain, finance member Roknuzzaman, science and technology member Hosne Ara Begum, and secretary of the council Mohammad Shahidul Haque Patwary, said a press release.


The BCSIR is working for the welfare of the people of the country. So those of you who are wealthy in the society or involved in business and research can open new business horizons with the methods invented by BTRI or BCSIR, said Samina Ahmed.

The workshop was presided over by BTRI acting director and chief scientific officer Md Abdus Sattar.

He mentioned, ‘BTRI is the newest research laboratory of BCSIR. All the scientists here are relentlessly conducting research to make this research center state-of-the-art.’

Being a stakeholder, SM Abdur Rahman, former chairman of the department of clinical pharmacy and pharmacology, University of Dhaka, requested the responsible authorities to reach all the services of the BCSIR to the remote areas of the country.
