At least three people were killed and five members of a family were injured in road accidents in Lakshmipur, Bogura and Lalmonirhat on Monday.聽

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a man was killed as a tractor hit him on the Lakshmipur-Ramgati road at Karoitala Bazar under Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur.


The deceased was M Miraj Hossain, 22, a resident of Luthua village under Charfalkon union of the upazila.聽

Kamalnagar police station officer-in-charge Touhidul Islam said that a case was filed with the police station in this connection.

In another incident, the BSS reported that a man was killed as his motorcycle collided head-on with a human hauler on the Nandigram-Deugram road in Bhuskur Bazaar area under Nandigram of Bogura.聽聽

The deceased Mizanur Rahman, 38, a resident of Dariapur village of the upazila, was an employee of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank in Kahalu branch.

Nandigram police station OC Tarikul Islam said that Mizanur succumbed to his injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, the BSS reported that a woman was killed and five members of a family were injured in a road accident in South Parulia Battala village under Hatibandha of Lalmonirhat.聽

The deceased, Nuri Begum, 55, was a resident of the village.

Hatibandha police station OC Mahamudunnabi said that the accident occurred on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway when a cement-laden truck entered into a roadside house as its driver lost control over the steering.
