On December 21, the council announced a series of protest programmes, including the Dhaka rally on January 4, in response to the Public Administration Reform Commission鈥檚 draft proposals.
The proposals suggested forming divisions or service commissions for health and education sectors, separating them from the BCS framework.
Since the formation of the reform commission on October 3, the council has been demanding an end to the 75 per cent quota for administration cadre officials in the ranks of deputy secretary.
At a meeting held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in Dhaka on Friday, the council鈥檚 organisers urged officials from the 25 cadres to refrain from expressing adverse reactions before the reform commission鈥檚 final recommendations, according to a press release issued by the council.
Additionally, the council urged the public administration reform commission to avoid removing education and health sectors from the civil service cadre system.
Chaired by platform鈥檚 convener agriculturist Arif Hossain, the meeting was addressed by the council鈥檚 coordinators and other organisers from the 25 cadre associations, according to the press release.
