
Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation has recently signed an agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian company Ma鈥檃den Group for importing 6 lakh tonne of Diammonium phosphate fertiliser per year for 2025 and 2026.
The agreement was signed between BADC chairman Md Ruhul Amin Khan and a representative of Ma鈥檃den in Riyadh on December 15, said a press release on Friday.
Agriculture ministry secretary Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian and other representatives were present during the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, all steps will be taken through BADC under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure timely receipt of DAP fertiliser.
This will ensure that there will be no shortage of DAP fertiliser in the country. It will be possible to ensure timely supply of the fertiliser to farmers.
The government will save Tk 29 crore in revenue under the current agreement compared to the previous year through negotiations before signing this agreement, mentioned the press release.
