Police in a drive arrested an Awami League leader in Nimnagar Fhulbari area of Dinajpur district town Thursday noon in a case filed for attacking the anti-discrimination student agitation in the town.
The arrested is AHM Shamin Alam Sarker Babu, 55, president of the district town Awami League.
Shamim was produced before the court at about 2.30pm. The court rejected his bail petition and ordered to send him to jail, court inspector M Mahamudul Alam said.
